Arrival at Marrakech airport, transfer and installation in a charming Riad. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

  2. Day 2 Marrakech - Telouet - Ait Ben Haddou - The Gorges of Dades

Departure in the morning from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech towards the Gorges de Dades, pass by the highest road pass of Morocco (2260 m), the Tizintichka pass (literally the ’pasture ’ in Tamazight) . Stop en route to take pictures.

Continuation to Telouet, visit of the Glaoui Kasbah (sometimes also known as the Glaoui Palace), a kasbah built between the 19th century and the 20th century, the most famous of which is probably Thami El Glaoui.

Then pass through the valley of Ounila to Ait Ben Haddou. This valley was the obligatory passage of the caravans between Marrakech and Ouarzazate, and constitutes an extraordinary environment. Throughout this valley, a striking contrast between the ocher of the earth and the rocks and the verdure of the plantations is offered to the walkers who take the time to observe it.

Visit of Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most famous of the Moroccan South, now classified World Heritage by Unesco. This ksar was built a few hundred years ago on a promontory in order to escape the invasions of foreign tribes. You have to go up to the ruined granary to admire the view over the ksar, the palm grove and the surrounding stones desert. This fortified town looks deserted. In fact only a few families still live there).

After lunch in a typical restoration on the spot, departure towards the gorges of Dades crossing the Valley of the Roses.

    Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

  3. Day 3 The Gorges of Dadès - The Goges of Todra - Dunes of Erg Chebbi

Visit of a geological site of fossils (Amonite …) and lunch en route and Continuation by a track which extends the dunes of erg chebbi to the village of Khamlia (possibility to have tea with a gnaoua family) Around 5 pm you Climb the dromedaries to reach your bivouac in the middle of the dunes, with a stop to watch the sunset.

Dinner and night under Berber tent with evening around fire, music in Tam Tam with the nomads.

  4. Day 4 Dunes of Erg Chebbi – Ifrane -Fez

Breakfast between dunes before we say farewell to the desert and leave for the Middle Atlas.

We highly suggest waking up early to witness a sunrise over the Sahara. While preparing our breakfast it is possible to travel around the dunes by 4WD and visit the nearby villages.

Then we’ll continue our Morocco tour and cross the Middle Atlas and a new change of landscape along the way. Along the way to Fez we’ll stop in Ifrane. For a moment feel as if Switzerland had been settled in Africa, hence its nickname ”little Switzerland”. This city was built during the protectorate in the 1930s.

    Then we’ll arrive in Fez.
